Chimney External Shell Repair Works
Chimneys have become increasingly taller over time, and their impact on local communities is immense in terms of safety concerns.If chips from the external walls fall down from the heights of the wall due to cracks in the concrete, it may result in serious accidents. Depending on the conditions and scale of the chimney, we use either the carbon sheet method or the banding method.
Carbon Sheet Method
In this method the damaged chimney surface is covered with a carbon sheet, and a topcoat is applied to prevent the chimney from cracking further and also to prevent water from entering the chimney.The method also includes reinforcement of top caps if necessary, depending on the condition of the chimney.
Banded Method
In this method, steel or stainless steel bands are wound vertically and horizontally around the entire chimney to reinforce the external wall. In extreme cases, it may be necessary to totally enclose the chimney with a steel sheet, depending on the extent of surface cracking.
